It is April fools day, but we're not joking. Lindsay and I have lost a combined total of 39 pounds!
Now, as you know, I hate exercise and for the majority of this three month challenge, I did not workout. But, just following the diet, I lost 17 pounds or about 1.5 pounds per week. Do you realize what that means? What it means is that by cutting out junk food, I cut out about 750 calories a day!!!! I can't believe that. All those little treats sure add up.
Here's the frustrating thing for me. My upper body went from a size 10 to a size 6. I have lost at least 4 inches off my waist....... and a ton off my chest..... if you know what I mean! I joke now that my 12 year old and I will have orthodontist dates and my 9 year old and I can go bra shopping together in the junior department! My lower body went from a 14 to a 12, but sometimes that 12 is still a bit too snug. Although I am the definition of a pear, I prefer to think of myself as being built like Tinkerbell. She's cute even with those curvy hips!
Lindsay did even better. He cut out junk food and worked out everyday of the challenge, except Sundays to lose 22 pounds (almost 2 pounds per week)........ although I think he looks like he lost at least 30!!!
Right after I post this entry, I am going upstairs to make myself a hot chocolate! Then I intend to eat healthy all day, until after my kiddos are in bed when I will enjoy my favorite treat..... black tie chocolate mousse cake. Tomorrow morning, I will be following the 5 dollar diet again for another three months. I don't know Lindsay's exact plans, but I know he's really been missing pizza and ice cream.
We will keep working and, when we feel like we've reached our final goals, we'll have photos. Lindsay is hoping to lose at least 10 more pounds. I am hoping to actually gain 5 pounds of muscle and tone up which unfortunately means exercise!
