Gym Girl here again! I thought I'd tell you my favorite scrapbook related (sort of) story. My husband is a very shy, very small town, country boy. Two years ago, I attended the Epilepsy Association of Utah's annual Crop Because You Care fund raiser. Stacy Julian was the keynote speaker.
It is an all day crop. I wasn't organized enough to just take a couple of things to work on, so I brought my whole scrapbook arsenal. My sweet husband was nice enough to help me bring all of my stuff into the building. I hadn't paid too much attention to what he was wearing.
As he was walking in, wheeling my scrapbook tote, Stacy happened to be walking out the door. All of a sudden, she squealed with delight and dragged my husband on stage and grabbed the microphone. She said, "Ladies look what I found! It's a man!" There was my poor, shy, mortified husband on stage with 400 women whistling and screaming. Then she said, "Look what he's wearing!" I looked at my husband's John Deere T-Shirt that read CROP HUGGER! Stacy then proceeded to suggest a new fund raiser. My husband probably hugged 100 strangers that day!
Then, because that wasn't nearly embarrassing enough for the poor boy..... The next year at the same event, I was telling the story to a lady at our table. She said, "Oh, yeah! I saw him on the internet!" Sure enough, his pictures are on the Epilepsy Association of Utah's website. When I showed him, he had to relive the "ordeal" all over again! So, I think he's had enough time to recuperate from his trauma. Here are the pix!
