It is funny what scares us.
My list of fears includes:
Spiders
Airports
Lightening
Social events
and
That I may accidentally forget and use a metal untensil to take out my toast electricuting myself. (No, I'm not kidding. I have had this fear since childhood.)
However, I am not afraid of paint or blank canvases. If you are, I'm here to help. This little house canvas is so simple that nothing could possibly scare you about it. Right?!
All you have to do is start by drawing a curved line lightly with your pencil. Then take your sky color, load your brush and start painting from the top down. As the brush runs out of paint, just dip it in a little water. This will make the sky go lighter as it gets closer to the horizon line. Now do the same thing with the ground.
You have now finished all the scary paint parts! cut a rectangle with door in it for the body of your house. Cut a triangle for the roof. Add a Tiny Text pathway and you're almost done.
The black lines were drawn with a Micron fine point pen; little stroked lines for the "grass", an outline around the body of the house and a doorknob. It's a quick and easy project that looks darling on the wall!
If you're feeling braver about your painting skills, the girl is quite easy to do as well. I'll even give you a free pattern for making her! But, you don't really need it. Her head is a circle and her body is a triangle. The only tricky part is drawing the hand! The skirt is made by ruffling tissue paper onto Gluber strips.

PS: They say the best way to overcome your fears is to face them. You'll have to let me know if it's true because I don't have any plans to stick a fork in a toaster!
