Three Chalkboard Cheer Christmas Cards

In my defense, handmade Christmas cards don't happen overnight..... nope, they happen over many nights!

So, gather your holiday papers and let's get started! I used Chalkboard Cheer.

And paired it with our Simple Surfaces deck because I am in love with glitter prints... especially on vellum!

You can see what I mean on this card. I punched a window in the vellum to be like an ornament. The glittering is done with the Adhesive Glitter Sheets cut into narrow strips using my paper trimmer.

My next card uses the vellum to create a frosty window pane. It was a tiny-bit tricky to secure the strung wooden snowflakes, but a little persistence got the job done! For the prettiest look, sandwich the vellum and strings under the patterned cardstock but over the card base. That way, when one opens the card, the inside is nice and neat.

My last card doesn't use any vellum, but one of the glitter-printed cardstocks from the Simple Surfaces deck instead. I love stringing the chipboard alphas on the gold cord to spell out short messages. It's a favorite technique! The glitter sticker is just cut from the adhesive glitter sheets with scissors. Love that stuff!!

I have lots more cards to make. Maybe my candy corn sugar rush will come in handy afterall!



 

Candy Corn Jars and Candy Corn Popcorn Recipe

These smiling Jack-O-Lanterns are contagious. Just one look at them and you'll be smiling too!

I used adhesive vinyl to cut the eyes and mouths. What makes them really fun is using the different size jars (I got mine at Target) and the Jadeite Show Toppers mason jar lids.


When you are ready to eat your candy corns, may I suggest this fun recipe. We made it last night and I think the whole bowl lasted about 10 minutes!

You'll need:
1/2 C Popcorn Kernels
1 C Candy Corns
1/4 C Butter
1/4 t Salt

Pop your popcorn (I use an air popper). Then in a small saucepan melt your butter, candy corns and salt together until smooth. Mix this with your popcorn in a large bowl stirring gently until it's evenly coated. 

Don't mind the Sunday night casual attire in these pics, just imagine eating that bowl of salty, sweet, buttery, yumminess with your family!

Easy DIY Glittered Envelopes

Hello Friends!

I have written my letters and I thought it would be nice to actually mail them off. To make them extra special, I decided to glitter the inside of the envelopes to match the glitter I used on the cards.

This is easy and entirely mess free with our Glitter Sheets.

Here's what to do: 

1. Use tracing paper or even type paper to make a template that fits your envelope. You will want the glue strip to be exposed. You'll also want to cut your glitter about 1/8" narrower than the width of the envelope.

2. Cut your glitter following your template.

3. Cut the backing paper away from your glitter, only on the part of the glitter that will go over the envelope flap.

4. Slide the glitter into the envelope. It will go in nicely since we didn't expose the adhesive on the lower portion.

5. Crease the edge of the envelope. It will be a little stiff, but a good rubbing will help if fold nicely.

6. Add your cards and your done!
